An unemployed man stabbed his wife and three of her family members after a heated argument over some issue here Monday evening. The attack resulted in the death of one of them, police said.
The incident was reported around 5 p.m. from Sagarpur in west Delhi.
Police said that Bhupinder, 35, a resident of Naraina in west Delhi, is on the run after the incident.
He stabbed his wife Poonam, 30, mother-in-law Kaushalya, 52, and two brothers-in-law - Pankaj, 27, and Ankur, 24.
All of them were rushed to a hospital where Kaushalya was declared dead. Pankaj is reportedly out of danger while Poonam and Ankur are in critical condition.
Police said the reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained as the victims are not able to give a statement.
"Initial information reveals that Bhupinder reached his in-laws' house with his wife a few hours before the attack. He indulged in a heated argument with his in-laws over some issue and stabbed them," Deputy Commissioner of Police Suman Goyal told IANS.
