Belgian defender and captain of Manchester City, Vincent Kompany will be sidelined for around a month after sustaining an injury on Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League knockout stage against Dynamo Kyiv.
Kompany, 29, started only 13 English Premier League matches this football season due to muscular pain after accumulating 14 calf injuries since he signed for the Citizens in 2008, reports Efe.
After Tuesday's goalless draw against the Ukrainian side and the qualification of Man City to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, Chilean coach Manuel Pellegrini explained that "Vincent again has a muscle injury in his calf, the same problem that he had before".
Kompany is of great importance to City as without him the team concedes a goal every 70 minutes, while if he plays the Manchester side receives a goal every 156 minutes.
