Argentine midfielder Angel Di Maria has completed his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) from English giants Manchester United, the French football club announced on Thursday.
Earlier this week, Di Maria went to Doha to undergo his medical examination before flying in here on Wednesday to complete his move. He signed a four-year contract, PSG said.
The midfielder was reportedly unhappy at his old club. He played just a season for United.
"I am very proud, and can't wait, to wear the colours of Paris Saint-Germain", Di Maria was quoted as saying by the club's website on Thursday.
"I want to win every competition we enter, both in France and Europe. I want to win the Champions League, which is a dream for all footballers, for a second time. We will do everything we can to bring Europe's biggest trophy to France and the fans of Paris Saint-Germain," the 27-year-old added.
In 2008, he won Olympic gold with Argentina in Beijing. He has earned 66 caps for his country, scoring 15 goals.
