After a gap of a few years, popular Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala has completed her latest Malayalam film 'Edavappathy' directed by award winning director Lenin Rajendran and she is happy.
The actress on Wednesday spoke to the media here and said that she is excited to be back to act in a Malayalam film and that too in one directed by Rajendran.
" I really enjoyed working in this new film which is a period movie and has an artistic touch," said the actress.
Rajendran said that his new film will be ready for release in January next year and it tells the tale of Tibetans who wish to return to their homeland.
"Most of the shooting has been done in Bylakuppe, the Tibetan settlement in Karnataka state. Kullu Manali is another place where the film has been canned besides Hampi (Karnataka) and also a bit here," said Rajendran who has won numerous awards for his earlier works.
Koirala plays a central role in the cast that includes Siddhartha Lama.

" I am so happy to be back in Malayalam films and I really wish, I could act once again with Mohanlal," said Lama, who is employed in Nepal.
Award winning cinematographer Madhu Ambat who cranks the camera for the film said that since the characters in the film have a mix of modernity and myths, he enjoyed working for the film as he has played a lot with darkness in the film.
"The film has a deep contrast of light and shadows and I have seen that. I have been able to bring out the internal landscape of every character. More than the locations, I have used the darkness," said Ambat.
