French Ligue 1 Marseille's new coach Marcelo Bielsa is unhappy with the football club's failure to sign the players he wanted in the summer transfer window.
"The outcome of the transfer market is negative," said the 59-year-old former Argentina head coach Friday. "The president made promises that he knew he couldn't keep."
As Marseille sold Mathieu Valbuena along with few other players and signed the likes of Alessandrini, Batshuayi, Barrada and Doria, Bielsa was not pleased by the club's transfer policy, reports Xinhua.
"None of the players joined with my approval," he said. "I proposed 12 players and none of them came."
"We wanted (Benjamin) Stambouli or (Toby) Alderweireld," he admitted. The former joined English Premier League's Tottenham Spurs from Montpellier and the latter for La Liga's Atletico Madrid.
Bielsa, however, managed a good start to the Ligue 1's new season, collecting seven points with two wins, one draw and one defeat for a temporary fourth position.
