"The institutes will offer high quality driving training, using driving simulators, class room instruction and practical training. Once fully operational, the driving training institutes will be able to train around 10,000 learners in first phase, including women and the underprivileged, annually," a MSIL spokesman said.
He said MSIL will invest Rs.3 crore in the project to help in enhancing employability of youth in Punjab.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed on Friday between Punjab Transport Commissioner Ashwini Kumar and MSIL executive director R.S. Kalsi.
The Driving Training Institutes will be located near automated driving test tracks which will be used by RTOs to conduct driving tests for license seekers, the spokesman said.
