With widespread rain in most places in the northern region, maximum temperatures dipped at most places across Haryana and Punjab on Monday.
The maximum temperatures dipped by two to seven degrees Celsius from the average, the Met Department said here.
Chandigarh recorded a high of 25.4 degrees, seven degrees below normal.
Patiala city in Punjab recorded a high of 26.8 degrees, seven degrees below normal.
In Haryana, Ambala and Karnal recorded maximum temperatures of 26.2 and 26 degrees respectively, seven degrees below normal.
Light to moderate rainfall occurred at some places in both states in the past 24 hours. The skies remain overcast at most places.
The Met department predicted light to moderate rainfall in the region in the next two days.
