BSP chief Mayawati on Friday trained her guns once again on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, dubbing his 'Samajwadi Vikas Yatra' a sham.
The Dalit leader said in a statement that the reality of development in the state was evident by the fact that a chariot worth crores of rupees could not even cover a kilometre.
"The hi-tech bus made at a cost of crores conked off as soon as the yatra was flagged off. It proves it is not a vikas yatra but a diwaliya yatra," the Bahujan Samaj Party leader said.
She alleged that the workers of the ruling party engaged in hooliganism during the yatra but the police remained mute spectators.
Mayawati alleged that Akhilesh Yadav was openly patronising hooligans and normal life was disrupted by Samajwadi Party workers on Thursday.
She said that if there had indeed been real development in the state, Akhilesh Yadav would not have been found it necessary to take out a yatra to broadcast his achievements.
