An MBA passout was arrested in a case of attempt to murder a passerby who resisted his and his accomplices' attempts to molest a young woman here, Delhi Police said on Wednesday.
Police said accused Ravinder, 30, was an active member of 'Saddam Gauri' gang active in west and outer Delhi.
"Ravinder of Paharganj area was previously also involved in several criminal cases. He was arrested on Tuesday night from Dwarka's Sector 10 Metro station when he arrived there to meet one of his accomplices," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said.
Ravinder, along with Ramesh and Ashu Gupta, opened fire at Sanjay, 27, a taxi driver from Rajokri, on January 13, 2017, when the latter tried to stop them from molesting a woman in Janakpuri area, Yadav said. Sanjay was shot once and later recovered in hospital.
Ramesh and Ashu were arrested while Ravinder was on the run, the officer said.
Ravinder and his accomplices collected extortion money from different gambling (satta) operators in west and outer Delhi, police said.
