German luxury automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz India Thursday launched its sports luxury sedan CLA-Class priced between Rs.31.50 lakh and Rs.35.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
"With many segment benchmarks, we are convinced that the CLA will firmly make its mark in India. Its powerful design underscores the sporty side of the Mercedes-Benz brand," said Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India.
"We have incorporated India specific changes to the car making it even more adept for the Indian conditions. The CLA-Class which is a perfect blend of style, sporty drive and luxurious features, becomes an even more attractive choice for buyers with its unique value propositions."
The luxury sedan is powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine. The economy start-stop function is a standard feature in all engine variants and helps in saving fuel in city traffic.
The other variant of the vehicle comes with a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with direct injection system which provides fuel efficiency of 17.9 km per litre.

The third variant boasts of a two litre petrol engine which produces 135 kW at 5,500 rpm (rotations per minute) with a maximum torque of 300 Nm between 1,200-4,000 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km per hour in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 235 kmph.
The powerful and high torque motors are coupled with dual clutch transmission which combines the comfort of a seven-speed automatic transmission.
