There was no respite for Delhi residents on Sunday as the day temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average. Showers at some places in the evening, however, came as a welcome relief.
The minimum on Sunday was 28.8 degrees, two notches above the season's average.
An India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said good rains were expected throughout the day on Monday and will help bring down the maximum temperature by about three degrees.
"Thunderstorm with rains are likely on Monday. It will rain throughout the day," said an IMD official.
The maximum and minimum temperatures on Monday are likely to hover around 33 and 27 degrees respectively.
On Sunday, the humidity oscillated between 83 and 54 per cent.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature was 35 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average whereas the minimum was 27.7 degrees.
