A 56-year-old woman, working in state-run telecom company MTNL, has been found murdered at her home here, police said Wednesday.
Shanti Devi lived on the ground floor of her four-storey house in Shakarpur area in east Delhi. Her son Sunder discovered her lying on the floor when he returned from work Tuesday night.
The woman's throat was slit but the weapon was not found.
A neighbour told police that Shanti Devi was found walking on the streets around 9.30 p.m.
Family members said Rs.23 lakh in cash was missing from home.
Police suspect some insider's role behind the murder as there was no sign of ransacking in the room.
The woman recently sold a plot of land and the money which she received was kept in the house.
