Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Monday said the middle class in the country should have got more relief in the union budget proposals for 2016-17.

"I think the middle class should have got more relief," the former union urban development minister told media persons outside Parliament House.

The middle class comprises the majority of the country's nearly 1.3 billion population, he added.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the general budget in the Lok Sabha on Monday.
