Musical group Midival Punditz are all set to release their fourth studio album titled "Light" in April 2015 with a multi-city tour, which will see performances in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi.
The Delhi-based duo imbue a dose of Indian folk and classical elements in their electronic music mould. The new album is laden with folk influences and seeks to reinforce their signature feel, while taking the experience and the craft a notch up.
The Punditz -- Gaurav Raina and Tapan Raj -- will perform at Bluefrog here on April 7 and it will be their first performance-based concept-record with specially developed visuals to complement each song, read a statement.
The album features a bouquet of musicians such as flautist Ajay Prasanna, Rajasthani folk stalwart Kutle Khan, Indian classical singer Malini Awasthi, American producer Todd Michaelsen, Papon, Baiju Dharmajan, Karan Sharma, drummer Shardul Mehta and Karan Malik.
Over the span of their 18-year career so far, the duo has released three albums. In 2002, they released "Midival Punditz", their debut album; "Midival Times" in 2005 and "Hello Hello" in 2009, which earned them a spot on Amazon's top picks for 2009.
