Militants attacked army's brigade headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri town on Sunday morning.
Police said militants, whom number and identity was yet unknown, attacked the headquarters of the 12 Brigade around 5.30 a.m.
"Militants seem to have entered the camp where intense firing and explosions were going on", a senior police officer said.
The brigade headquarters is situated in Uri town of north Kashmir Baramulla district close to the Line of Control.
"If the militants responsible for the attack have recently infiltrated into the Indian side of the LoC from Pakistan or have been part of an existing group here is being established", the officer added.
