A miner trapped inside a goldmine in Indonesia since February 8 was rescued on Tuesday, said the company that runs the mine.
Australian mining company Newcrest said the trapped miner, Pak Mursalim Sahman, was rescued and he would be transferred to a hospital in Gosowong for a check-up before reuniting with his family, Efe news agency reported.
Gosowng is considered one of the largest mines in the world, and is operated by PT Nusa Halmahera Minerals.
A total of 75 percent of the mine is owned by Newcrest.
The miner was trapped around 300 metres (984 feet) under the surface on February 8 and two days later, rescue teams managed to communicate with him through a hole, through which they also passed him food and water.
On Sunday, they completed drilling a hole large enough to pull him out and from then till his rescue, steps were taken to ensure that the hole would not collapse.
Extraction and processing operations at Gosowong has remained suspended since the accident.
