Minor abducted, murdered in Delhi

A six-year-old son of a fruit seller was abducted and murdered here, police said Friday.

Ganesh's body was discovered at Narayana area in west Delhi Friday around 6 p.m., a day after he was abducted from near his house at Ranjeet Nagar area in central Delhi.

His neck was slit while the body bore other injury marks too, police said.

Soon after the abduction, the abductors called Ganesh's father Pramod and demanded Rs.1.5 lakh for his safe release. Pramod informed police.

Police suspected the involvement of some person known to the family behind the abduction and murder. They have questioned several relatives and acquaintances of the victim's father.

Recently, a jeweler's teenage son was abducted and murdered for ransom in Delhi. Police had arrested two people, known to his father, in connection with the case.
