The patriotism of religious minorities in India cannot be questioned, Home Minister Rajnath Singh declared on Monday, and stated that only the Narendra Modi government can ensure their security.

"One can very well serve India while continuing to pursue his religion," he added.

The home minister said the central government was "committed to instill a sense of security among minorities". It was "the greatest challenge" before any government, he added.

Rajnath Singh said India was the only country where all religions of the world are found and practiced.
