'Mixtape': Web series to present old songs in new form

"Mixtape", a new web series by music label T-Series, will unite 26 singers to give a fresh take on old songs with an acoustic arrangement of music.

A 17-episode series, it will witness a duet and solo performances on a mix of all-time favourite Bollywood songs ranging from love anthems, traditional harmonies, modern dance numbers and more.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, presented by Kings and powered by Saavn, the show begins on Thursday, to provide a musical platform which bridges barriers, celebrates diversity and encourages the artistes to be at their best.

"Digital is a great platform to work with these days as it gives audience first hand connect. Having such a massive catalogue of songs, we always wanted to do something on these lines. We are delighted that 'Mixtape' is finally coming to life with such great talent from the industry," Kumar, the T-Series Managing Director and Chairman, said in a statement.

Abhijit Vaghani has given the music for the entire season, where singers alongside wide-ranging instrumentalists will create a soulful sound.

The line-up includes Shreya Ghoshal, Shaan, Tulsi Kumar, Jubin Nautiyal, Neha Kakkar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Armaan Malik, Aditi Singh, Hardy Sandu, Neeti Mohan, Shirley Setia, Mohammed Irfan, Sreeram Chandra, Kanika Kapoor, Dev Negi, Sukriti Kakar, Nakash Aziz, Harshdeep Kaur, Salim Merchant, Shahid Mallya, Shruti Pathak, Prakriti Kakar, Jonita Gandhi, Aditya Narayan, Palak Muchhal and Guru Randhawa /
