'Modern Family' bags two Emmy awards in comedy category

"Modern Family" received trophies for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series at the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards here Monday night.

Hosted by Seth Meyers, the award ceremony began with the announcement of winners in the Comedy category.

While Ty Burrell went home with trophy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for playing Phil Dunphy in the popular show "Modern Family", the show's director Gail Mancuso bagged the Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series award.

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series was handed over to Allison Janney for "Mom".

Jim Parsons, popular as Sheldon Cooper on "The Big Bang Theory", went home with Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award for the sitcom. Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series was bagged by "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who was also one of the presenters of the evening.

Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series went to Louis C.K for "So Did The Fat Lady".

Jimmy Fallon, the host of "Saturday Night Live", was also one of the presenters and winner of Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series.

Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series went to Uzo Aduba, who plays Suzanne 'Crazy Eyes' Warren, in "Orange Is The New Black".

The award ceremony is also attended by Hollywood stars like Julia Roberts and Matthew McConaughey.
