Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in the Myanmar capital on the first leg of his three-nation tour Tuesday and described India's immediate southeast Asian neighbour as "beautiful".
"Landed in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, to a very warm welcome! Great being in this beautiful country," Modi said in a tweet. He also posted a picture.
Modi was given a guard of honour on his arrival and welcomed by people dressed in their traditional attires.
India sees Myanmar as the "natural bridge" to southeast Asia.
