Modi arrives in New York on final leg of US visit

He will attend a summit, organised by Obama, on countries that contribute to UN Peacekeeping forces

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New York on Monday in the final leg of his five-day US visit.

He has a packed day of engagements, including a summit meeting with US President Barack Obama, before he heads home.

"Back in city that never sleeps. An early morning arrival allows for a full final day for PM @narendramodi in New York," tweeted external affairs ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup.

"Power Monday. PM @narendramodi to meet leaders of the UK, France and the US, all in the course of one morning," he posted.
 

 

Modi is to hold bilateral meetings with British Prime Minister David Cameron and France's President Francois Hollande.

He is also to attend a summit, organised by Obama, on countries that contribute to UN Peacekeeping forces.

Modi spent two days in San Jose, California, on the West Coast, tapping IT giants Google, Facebook and other Silicon Valley honchos for his Digital India and Make in India initiatives.
