Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday interacted with Directors General and Inspectors General of Police from across the country at their annual conference and said deliberations at the event will strengthen national security.
The conference is being held at a tent city set up near the newly-erected statue of the country's first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, known as the Statue of Unity.
Modi visited the statue and paid floral tributes to Patel. He tweeted about his visit to the conference venue and urged people to visit the world's tallest statue which was unveiled on October 31.
He said Patel's contribution towards building the framework of the nation's security system is immense.
"I would specially urge you all to visit Kevadia and see the Statue of Unity. Some friends told me that the statue can also be seen during Delhi-Mumbai flights. So, next time you are flying that route, do try to spot the statue"," he said in a tweet.
