Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally at Kelambakkam, near Chennai, on Wednesday, Union Minister for Railways and Coal Piyush Goyal has said.
The rally will also be attended by leaders of other National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties from Tamil Nadu, including All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) leaders K. Palaniswami and O. Panneerselvam, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) leaders S. Ramadoss and Anbumani Ramadoss and Puthiya Tamilagam (PT) leader S. Krishnasamy.
Goyal said A. Vijayakant's Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) will also be a part of the BJP alliance in the state.
According to the BJP, Modi will also launch some government schemes on the day.
Meanwhile, Goyal dedicated to the nation a 1,000 MW thermal power project of Neyveli Tamil Nadu Power Ltd (NTNPL), a joint venture between Neyveli Lignite Corporation of India Ltd (NLCIL) and Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO).
He also dedicated to the nation NLCIL's 150 MW solar power projects in the Virudhunagar and Ramanathauam districts.
