Prime Minister Narendra Modi will Sunday visit flood affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir, an official statement said.
Modi was briefed about the situation in the state by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who visited the state Saturday but decided to go himself to see the ground situation, the statement said.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi was briefed this evening by the home minister after his return from a visit to Jammu and Kashmir to survey the flood-affected areas. In view of the seriousness of the situation, the prime minister immediately called for a review meeting to assess the situation," it said.
