A 10-day monsoon session of the Telangana legislature will begin on September 20.
The decision was taken at the Business Advisory Committees (BAC) of both the assembly and the council on Tuesday.
The BACs met soon after both the houses unanimously passed resolutions to ratify the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill. They decided to confine Tuesday's session to just one day.
The BAC meeting chaired by Speaker Madhusudhana Chary decided that the monsoon session should be held in September.
The meeting attended by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and leaders of all parties decided that it will be a 10-day session although the main opposition Congress party sought a 15-day session.
The opposition wanted the session to start this week so that important issues like drought relief, problems faced by farmers and agreements signed by the state with Maharashtra over Godavari water could be taken up.
