South Korean President Moon Jae-in and US President Donald Trump see a possibility for talks between South Korea and North Korea leading to talks between Washington and Pyongyang, multiple local media reports said on Wednesday.
Moon and Trump had a telephone conversation for about half an hour earlier in the day, after South and North Korea held the first high-level talks in around two years in the truce village of Panmunjom the previous day, Xhinhua news agency reported.
Trump said he would be open to talks if North Korea wants it at an appropriate time and under right situations, noting that there would be no military action toward Pyongyang during the inter-Korean dialogue.
