Ukrainian troops are responsible for killing the employee of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the eastern city of Donetsk, Russia's foreign ministry said Friday.
The shelling at the local ICRC office "obviously" came from the territory controlled by the government troops, though the Ukrainian government has denied it, a Russian foreign ministry spokesman said, reported Xinhua.
"We noticed Kiev's hasty reaction, rushing to deny their responsibility for the death of ICRC's worker," he said, adding that Moscow strongly condemned the "grave violation of international law."
A 38-year-old Swiss national who worked as an administrator at ICRC's office in Donetsk was killed when a shell landed near the premises Thursday, according to the organisation's website.
