Lok Adalats awarded compensation of over Rs.32 lakh while disposing off 13 cases pertaining to motor accident claims Saturday.
The Lok Adalats were organised by the Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA).
A total of 2,662 cases of cheque bounce, civil, electricity, matrimonial, traffic, criminal compoundable offences and others were disposed off in 45 benches, organised in six district court complexes.
"Besides, two benches disposed off 13 cases pertaining to motor accident claims in which compensation amount of Rs.32,57,000 was awarded," a DLSA official said.
He added that 188 criminal cases were disposed off by way of plea bargaining in the special sitting conducted by metropolitan magistrates. As many as 48 cases pertaining to banks at the pre-litigative stage were also disposed off.
