It was a cloudy yet muggy day in the capital Friday with the maximum temperature settling a notch above average at 35.4 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast a cloudy Saturday with rain and thunderstorm occurring in some areas of the city.
The minimum temperature recorded on Friday morning was 25.8 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the season, while humidity levels ranged between a high of 92 percent and a low of 60 percent.
"The skies will be cloudy, few spell of rain or thundershowers may occur later in the day Saturday and sultry weather conditions would continue," said an official of India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the IMD, the maximum and minimum temperatures Saturday are expected to be around 32 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
A total of 261.1 mm of rain has been recorded in Delhi since the outbreak of monsoon June. The seasonal average for the whole monsoon is 45 percent above average.
Thursday's minimum temperature settled at 27.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the maximum temperature was normal at 34.1 degrees Celsius.
