Addressing Samajwadi Party workers at the party headquarters here, Mulayam Singh invoked late party leader Janeshwar Mishra's dream of "capturing Delhi".

He told supporters that after being in power in Uttar Pradesh four times, the time has come to unite and work towards the "Delhi dream".

Mulayam Singh said Mishra always wanted to see the SP play an important role in Delhi at the national level.

"Since Mishra always wanted the SP to be powerful in Delhi, a suitable homage to him would be to do so," the three-time chief minister said.

Mulayam Singh has hinted many times in the past about his ambition of being a prime ministerial candidate.

The party has asked SP workers to unitedly fight the 2014 Lok Sabha polls to enable the SP to get maximum seats to increase its bargaining power at the centre.
