When it comes to snacking, most foodies here prefer them to be vegetarian, says a study.

As many as 69.66 percent of Mumbai people prefer vegetarian snacks, with only 13 percent choosing non-vegetarian snacks, said a survey conducted by corporate quick service restaurant chain Jumboking.

The survey, conducted on around 315 randomly selected respondents in the range of 12-60 years of age, attempted to observe and document the city's snacking habits.

The remaining 17.33 percent would eat either vegetarian or non-vegetarian, depending on what was available. Only 0.1 percent did not respond.

"Mumbai's commuters are a busy lot. Over the last 13 years, we have routinely done dipstick studies that indicated that vegetarianism is a major preference, when it comes to snacking," Dheeraj Gupta, managing director, Jumboking, said in a statement.
