Myanmar President U Thein Sein vowed Wednesday to cooperate with an independent human rights monitoring group.
U Thein Sein made the remarks when he met with the group made up of three representatives from Human Rights Watch, David Matthison, Brad Adams and Phil Robertson, Xinhua reported.
U Thein Sein expressed his wish to cooperate with the group in addition to the UN Human Rights Commission and UN Human Rights Council after his government took office in March 2011 and worked closely with the United Nations.
The group also expressed willingness to cooperate with Myanmar in its reform process.
