Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that he has rejected an offer of 60 million euros ($66 million) to sell Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain to Atletico Madrid foortball club, in exchange for two or three other players from the Rojiblancos.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Laurentiis dismissed recent speculation about the future of the Argentine striker, and stressed the only way for him to leave is to meet his exit clause, which is worth 97 million euros ($106 million), reports Efe.
He also dismissed the possibility of Higuain joining Juventus even if the Italian side agree to pay the penalty clause, and if so, Higuain himself must agree to the deal.
De Laurentiis went further and said even if the Argentine signed for Juventus, he would be betraying himself.
