Telangana's Finance Minister Etela Rajender had a narrow escape, escaping with minor injuries after his car overturned and rolled over five times in Karimnagar district on Saturday evening, police said.
The minister, his personal assistant, gunman and driver were injured in the accident, which occurred at Idulagattupally, about 12 km from Karimnagar town and about 170 km from here.
Police said the minister's car overturned when the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to overtake a truck. As it was a bullet proof vehicle, the occupants escaped with minor injuries.
The minister and other injured were shifted to a hospital in Karimnagar. Doctors said the condition of all the injured was stable.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao spoke to Rajender over phone and inquired about his condition. Officials said the minister was being brought to Hyderabad for treatment.
