NCL Veka has commissioned its new uPVC extrusion facility in Telangana to cater to the increasing demand for uPVC windows profiles in India and exports.

NCL Veka, a joint venture between NCL, a leading building materials manufacturer and Germany's Veka, world's largest producer of Unplasticized Poly Vinyl Chloride (uPVC) profiles, has opened the 1,50,000 square foot facility with fully automated mixing and conveying system near Patancheru in Medak district.

Set up with an investment of Rs.50 crore, the facility makes NCL Veka the largest player in uPVC windows in India.

With 18 extruders, the facility will produce 14,000 tons of uPVC profiles. It plans to add 12 more extruders next year. "When the plant is fully operational we will have the capacity to produce over 30,000 tons of profiles, to manufacture over 1.7 million windows annually," said Ashven Datla, Managing Director of NCL Veka on Thursday.

India's windows market is estimated to be Rs 13,000 crore. Though the share of uPVC is only 15 per cent, the company is hopeful that it will touch 50 per cent in the next few years due to increased demand for uPVC windows due to heat and sound insulation, better aesthetics and longer life.

Andreas Hartleif, CEO of Veka AG, said they see huge potential for growth as uPVC bagged 15 percent share despite being a late entrant in Indian market.

Growing at 30 per cent, NCL Veka clocked a turnover of Rs. 163 crore during 2017-18. It expects to grow at the same level during the current fiscal.

The company will invest Rs.25 crore in opening showrooms in Mumbai and Bengaluru besides Hyderabad, where it already has one showroom. Two more showrooms will be opened in Delhi and Chennai next year.

Veka is a $1.2 Billion, world's largest producer of uPVC profiles with operations in manufacturing units in 18 countries, operations in 40 countries.
