The NDMC is issuing notices to officers and employees who have failed to maintain cleanliness in NDMC buildings, the civic body said on Tuesday.
At the same time, NDMC chairman Naresh Kumar has decided to give incentives like mechanized tools to buildings which have been maintained well, a statement from the New Delhi Municipal Council said.
"For poor performance, show cause notices are being issued to the buildings in-charge and instructions have been issued to take immediate corrective measures," he said.
This followed an inspection of NDMC buildings to check general cleanliness, sanitation and maintenance. The buildings included schools, health units and community centres.
The Navyug School at Mandir Marg, the Palika Maternity Hospital at Lodhi Colony and the Convention Centre on Jai Singh Road were found measuring up to the required standards of cleanliness.
But five other buildings -- one in Pandara Park and Moti Bagh each, two in East Kidwai Nagar and NDMC's Mayur Bhawan -- "were not (maintained) as per the desired standards".
The NDMC is the smallest of three civic agencies in the capital.
