The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Sunday organised "Community Capacity Building Programme" at two places in the national capital to make people aware of the safety measures to be adopted in times of disasters.
This was done to showcase the NDRF's capabilities as well as to educate the masses in the field of disaster response, an official release issued here said.
In the programme, held in Dwarka and Connaught Place areas of the city, the NDRF teams demonstrated 'pre-hospital treatment' skills to stablise the disaster victims by the medical first responder in the aftermath of any disaster.
"These demonstrations were followed by the exhibition of the state-of-the-art equipment related to the Medical First Response, Aquatic Disaster Response, Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) emergencies which are invariably used by NDRF during various search and rescue operations," it said, adding that the visitors were made aware about the use of these equipment.
Besides, lecture on Dos and Don'ts to be adhered to upon occurrence of any type of disaster and distribution of pamphlets was also carried out during the programme.
Senior officers of the NDRF were present to supervise the programme, which more than 4,000 people attended.
