Praising Nepal's effort in curbing circulation of fake Indian currencies, BJP leader Tarun Vijay Friday said the neighbouring country would get priority in the NDA government's foreign policy.

"Being an important strategic partner of India, Nepal is a topmost priority in our foreign policy," Vijay said here.

Expressing gratitude for the Nepalese government's effort in curbing the fake currency note route via Nepal to India, the Bharatiya Janata Party leader said the neighbour was looking up to India to solve their power crisis.

"People in Nepal are looking up to India to solve their power crisis and believe the situation can be improved through a joint venture or a hydro electric power project," he said adding that such a project will also revive their economy.

Vijay said the Modi government was already working on measures to control price rise in the short run.

"The government will arrest price rise soon. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is on the job.. The Prime Minister has also called a special cabinet meeting on means to stabilise the prices," he said on the sidelines of a programme here.

He exuded confidence that the Indian economy would return to the high growth trajectory, with investors keen on investing in the country after the Modi government came to power last month.
