A Nepal Airlines flight from New Delhi to Kathmandu, with 150 passengers on board, including Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat, suffered a tyre burst while landing at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) here on Tuesday.

All flights were delayed for an hour due to the incident from around 12.50 p.m.

Foreign Minister Mahat was returning after a two-day official visit to New Delhi to set the stage for the visit of Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' to New Delhi, beginning on Thursday, the Kathmandu Post reported.

The Nepal Airlines Corporation Airbus A320 plane got stranded on the runway following the tyre burst. The burst also caused some damage on the runway, the Post said.

The 158-seater plane named Lumbini was fully occupied.

All passengers onboard were safe and were shifted to the airport terminal.
