Nepal quake toll rises to 4,680; over 9,000 injured

The toll in the devastating earthquake in Nepal rose to 4,680 on Tuesday evening, while 9,000 were injured across the nation, police said.

As many as 1,448 were killed in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, while 1,250 were killed in Sindhupalchowk district.

They were followed by Gorkha and Nuwakot with 374 and 560 dead, respectively.

Officials said search and rescue operations were on, and the number of casualties was likely to rise further.
