Nestle India on Monday announced it has resumed Maggi noodles' manufacturing at its Pantnagar factory in Uttarakhand.

The factory would be the fourth unit manufacturing Maggi noodles after Nanjangud (Karnataka), Moga (Punjab) and Bicholim (Goa).

"As we welcome back Maggi noodles, we have currently reached out to more than 600 towns and cities, covered about two lakh outlets and have sold over 4.5 crore packs. We are hopeful that this journey will help us re-calibrate, re-charge and re-focus on the brand," Nestle India chief Suresh Narayanan said in a statement.

Nestle India couldn't resume production in Uttarakhand earlier following a state government ban up to September 30.

"We are yet to start production in Tahliwal (Himachal Pradesh) and are engaging with the authorities and other stakeholders for necessary clearance," the company added.

While Nestle relaunched its marquee product after a five-month ban was lifted recently, the firm is still faced with the Rs.640-crore class action suit filed by the Indian government for alleged unfair trade practices.
