A new range of custom-made souvenirs showcasing elements of the interiors and architecture of the Rashtrapati Bhavan will be available for sale at the President's House Curio Shop from Friday.
The product range includes note books, photograph frames, fridge magnets, magnetic bookmarks, badges and stationery, an official statement said Thursday.
Each of the souvenirs, especially designed for the Rashtrapati Bhavan, showcases elements of the interiors and architecture of the President's House and carries an introductory note.
"They highlight the dramatic murals, intricate ceilings, stone jallies and striking inlay work on the floors of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The products reveal the beauty of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where indigenous motifs and craftsmanship is blended with wider stylistic influences," it said.
The souvenirs give a glimpse of the grandeur of the architecture, and lead to an appreciation of the design of the building.
Designed by Edwin Lutyens, construction of the building began in 1912, soon after the capital was shifted from Kolkata (then Calcutta) to Delhi by the British colonial government. The construction was completed by 1929.
