The NHRC on Monday took note of media reports that health workers made three women deliver on the floor despite availability of beds in a primary health centre in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district, leading to the death of all the three new borns.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has observed that the contents of the report raised a serious issue of violation of human rights of the women and new born babies, an official said.
Accordingly, notices have been issued to the principal secretary (health and family welfare) and the chief medical officer of the district. It sought a detailed report within two weeks.
