The Redeemed Christian Church of God, the largest church in Nigeria, will build an auditorium nine square km in area by 2014.
Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the general overseer of the church, made the announcement Saturday at a redemption camp in Mowe area of Ogun state, Xinhua reported.
According to Nigerian news website premiumtimesng.com, the auditorium will be three km long and three km wide.
He said the new auditorium will be built at the mission's camp ground on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The cleric said the existing auditorium, built in 2000 with a capacity of one million people, was no longer enough to accommodate millions of people attending church service.
The project will be completed before the 62nd convention of the church in August 2014, he said, urging people to generously donate for the auditorium.
