The capital's popular nightclub Ghungroo, which went on a sabbatical for a short period, has been reopened at a new location with a promise to provide entertainment, backed by good service in a safe environment.
Ghungroo has been in existence since 1978. The club was earlier located at the ITC Maurya here, and now, it has opened at the WelcomHotel Dwarka.
"We had a lot of demand from people, who were missing a club which was safe, exciting and entertaining with great service," Tejinder Singh, divisional head (food and beverage), ITC Hotels, told IANS.
"So, when we got the opportunity, we decided to come out of our short hibernation or sabbatical and launched Ghungroo promptly," he added.
Ghungroo in WelcomHotel Dwarka opened doors Friday night. The launch saw disc jockey (DJ) Suketu, known for churning out Bollywood and pop songs, behind the console.
A Saturday night special launch is dedicated to electronic music with DJ duo Nina Shah and Malika Hayden of The Electroverts in the house to keep the party going.

The location change in Ghungroo is deemed ideal due to its proximity to places like Gurgaon, Vasant Kunj and Vasant Vihar, which have over time established themselves as party hotspots for the capital's youngsters.
The music at Ghungroo will be eclectic.
"We have never stuck to saying that we are Bollywood or retro. It's entertainment provided in a larger spectrum. We believe entertainment doesn't have to be typecast. This also gives variety. We do music which is current and will do live acts too," said Singh.
The cover charge for the club is not fixed as yet.
For a few days, Ghungroo will remain open four days a week.
"We will extend it. It is too early to see how many days (in a week) we can keep it open. Right now, it will be open Wednesday to Saturday. It can change next week also," said Singh.
