Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif Friday claimed nine men accused of involvement in Karachi naval dockyard attack have been arrested but two key accused remain at large, Geo News reported.
On Sep 8, the Pakistan Navy said it thwarted a terror attack on the naval dockyard in Karachi two days earlier (Sep 6, night) after the Defence Day celebrations. At least two terrorists were killed and four captured during a six-hour gun battle with the intruders.
Khawaja Asif said two key accused who planned the attack - a commissioned and a non-commissioned navy officer - fled the country and were last located near Afghanistan border.
Evidences suggested the involvement of foreign elements in the Karachi naval dockyard attack, he said, adding three navy officers were also arrested in this connection.
