At least nine people were killed and four others injured when a truck and two cars collided in Pakistan's northwest Haripur district Monday afternoon, local media reported.
The two cars collided with the truck coming from the opposite direction in Dedan area of Haripur, a district located some 65 km north of the country's capital Islamabad, Xinhua reported citing Samaa TV.
The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.
Police said that dilapidated condition of the road and over speeding caused the accident.
Pakistan is among the countries having the worst record of fatal traffic accidents, mainly due to poor roads, lack of driving skills, badly maintained vehicles and violation of road safety rules.
Traffic police officials say that 90 percent of the accidents in the country take place due to human error.
