Automobile manufacturer Nissan Monday appointed Guillaume Sicard as president of its India operations, effective from Oct 1.
According to the company, Sicard has been serving as Nissan's deputy president in India since July this year. Sicard will report to Senior Vice President Takashi Hata of Nissan.
He is taking over the new assignment from Kenichiro Yomura, who has been appointed as general manager, Africa business management department.
"In his new role, Sicard will lead Nissan in India and be responsible for all the company's operations in the country, including manufacturing at the plant in Chennai which has a capacity of 400,000 units. He will lead business development as Nissan expands its sales networks," the company was quoted in a statement.
The company added that it will announce a new managing director fro India operations soon.
