Union ministers Radha Mohan Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday slammed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying he has derailed the development process in the state.

Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh said Bihar was developing with a high growth rate when the Bharatiya Janata Party was a partner in the government in alliance with Nitish Kumar's Janata Dal-United.

"After Nitish Kumar betrayed the BJP and ended the alliance, in the last two years without the BJP, development has been derailed in Bihar by Nitish Kumar," he said.

He said when the BJP-JD(U) alliance was in power, the state's GDP was 15.5 in 2012-13 but now it has come down to 8.82.

Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said Nitish Kumar cannot develop Bihar along with Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad.

"People know all this very well," he said.

The ministers also said the next government in Bihar will be of the BJP because the people were fed up with the deteriorating law and order situation and fear of the return of 'jungle raj' after Nitish Kumar joined hands with Lalu Prasad.

Twelve union ministers have visited various parts of Bihar in the last few days to address BJP workers to mark one year of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government at the Centre.
